terylene render

    Hi all,
    My house has an old Terylene render and it is manky. I'm wondering what the best plan of action is to restore this, can i just paint directly over it? or should it be cleaned? Are any king of specialist paints needed or can i just whack Exterior Paint on there?
    Any help would be great.
