My plan was to spread all last seasons Dung after the spring barley which is getting cut at the moment, then plough it in and sow Winter wheat
The contractor i use said it could cause problems if not evenly spread or put on too heavy where the crop would come ripe at different stages or lodge nearer to harvest
I though this was the done thing to get rid of the FYM
Can anybody advis me what there experiences are

I wouldn't worry too much about it but it really does depend on a lot of factors, how much dung per acre? How rich is the dung, were the cattle well fed on meals or just stored on poor silage/hay? Has it been stored outside? How fertile is the field you want to spread it on? What variety of wheat are you planning to sow? How experienced are you in managing the crop? Will it be ploughed in straight after spreading?

On worn land I wouldn't worry at all, it'll save you some bag P and K and maybe a little N, if the land is straight after good grass and highly fertile then maybe better to be careful.
