    Here's official link;
    http://www.agriculture.gov.ie/press/...,34680,en.html

    ........."Minister Smith Announces Savings in the Region of €5 Million for Irish Farmers
    Significant Changes in Brucellosis Testing Arrangements

    The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Brendan Smith TD, today announced a series of significant changes to the Brucellosis Eradication Scheme, following the recent European Commission decision granting Ireland officially brucellosis-free status.

    The changes announced by the Minister include

    an increase in the age threshold for annual round testing to 24 months;
    an increase in the validity period of the pre-movement test from 30 days to 60 days;
    an increase in the age-limit for the pre-movement test for female animals from 12 to 18 months and, in view of the lower risk attached to their movement, to 24 months for bulls;

    the pre-movement test "one sale" rule applying to female cattle aged 18 months or more is retained. However, as a result of the change in age threshold for bulls, the "one sale" rule for bulls is being increased from 12 to 24 months.
    These changes to the brucellosis programme will be implemented with effect from 9th September 2009........"

    ...so, if it's less than a year since you had your last TB test then the bullocks are fine.

    For TB, if the bulls are over 24 months then they have to re-tested, if the test was more than 60 days ago.
    For Brucellosis, then if over 24 months, than a test is needed.

    I have 4 bulls under 24 Months that were tested 10 months ago.
    I have 6 bullocks that are roughly 27 Months that were tested 10 months ago.

    All is good to go as they stand so :D

    This is such an easy answer!! TB lasts for one yr whether they are tested in a herd test or private Tb or reator retest or whatever. No matter where you sell them they have to just have to be in test for a year ie Mart factory or private sale. I think though if you exporting them and need export certs it might be 60 days..
    Regarding brucellosis testing blood testing the wealings dont have to be tested because they are under 24 months ...the bullocks are casterated so no bloods needs just Tb!!
    So if they were all tested in your herd test they are good to go!!just check your cards an see are they stamped..as long as you had all you cards in order at you herd test!
