    Hey folks,

I have just bought an 05 vectra sri. When i put the lights on there is no green symbol to say the normal lights are on. opel dealer said that this is normal for this model, that u can only tell by the switch position. Is that true? Seems strange to me! another question too. It has electric mirrors and when i go to move the drivers one, both move. Was also told this is normal... Any info appreciated

At a guess, if you move the selector switch for the mirrors you'll be able to operate the drivers one only. Re the lights, have you checked the handbook?

Had an 05 SRi myself and there was a lights on display. It came on if you put on the sidelights or dipped beams. As for the mirrors there are 2 buttons one for each side. Whatever one is pressed down is the one you can control. If neither are pressed down none will move.

Its not a diesel 150bhp MH reg is it? :D

haha nope a petrol. when i press the right mirror button both move for some reason and when i press the left just the left moves. re lights, when i put sidelights or dipped beams on only the instruments light up ie no light telling you that dipped beams are on. should this happen?

I think you will find that having the button for the mirror to the drivers side does adjust both mirrors to ease reversing... lowering both together.

    to set...

    #1 set drivers mirror...
#2 then press button to set passenger..
#3 press back to driver - hey presto good to go.

    SG..

The problem with the mirrors is normal, it is supposed to move both when set to the drivers side. As for the lights I think it should light up, where are you based?

A lot of cars now don't have a symbol for normal lights, just fog lights and main beam.

I have a 04 Vectra. There is only a light to indicate your main beams are on. For normal lights, you can tell by the RPM/MPH/Fuel/etc gauges all being illuminated.

Thanks Ardent and Tea 1000. Seems a strange design to me that theres no light telling you that dipped beams are on. Would have thought this would cause a lot of people to forget to put their dipped on if they already had sidelights on. ie coz dials are illuminated they might just think their dipped are on? I thought all cars had this symbol

No. That's why you see loads of plonkers driving on just sidelights (or worse - just one sidelight).
