    Hi Everyone :)

Has anyone been to Iceland around New Years Eve? We're heading over for a few days and have our itinerary ready apart from something to do when the clock strikes twelve!

    Thank you :D

Hi I spent New Years Eve in Iceland a couple of years ago. Practically all restaurants and bars close. House parties are the norm and a huge display of fireworks. i had friends living there so it worked out grand for me but would not be sure of how it would work out if you knew noone

    Thanks appleb,

Thats a bit of a bummer. We dont know anyone over there and it is being marketed as one of the places in the world to ring in the New Year!!! I'll just cross my fingers that some lovely Icelandic people take pity on us and bring us partying with them :)

The fireworks are amazing. Each household do a display and it literally goes on all night. Things might have changed in the last few years but I would imagine that you will end up in your hotel. So choose wisely!!!
