Tiles - cherry kitchen?

We’ve just finished having a new kitchen installed in our house. We have cherry units (I think they're relatively light as cherry goes, definitely not dark cherry anyway), high gloss black worktops and already had cream floor tiles down which the fitter was able to fit around. There’s a wooden venetian window blind, spotlights in the ceiling and some under press lighting onto the worktop.

So now I’m on the hunt for tiles for the splashback, and have to paint the room. Tiler might be coming later this week so under a bit of pressure to get the tiles today or tomorrow!

I’m looking for any ideas of what kind of tiles might work well, and also any ideas on paint?
