Not sure if this is the right forum but anywho, with a few IE pages open, and a few other bits and bobs my CPU seems to bullet up to 100% at times (my laptop is as clean as a whistle btw) just wondering if there's any programs I get disable on Startup (aside from MSN), might help it a bit.

The only major problem I can see is that you're using IE.

    Firefox or Chrome?

You should open your task manager and check the processes tab to see what programs are using your CPU. IE can hog, or at least it has done that to me, that's why I use Firefox. Then again, I found out recently that I had to use Chrome or my Windows Live Hotmail would not work properly.

Firefox tends to use about 200mb of my ram at least, the most light on memory would either be chrome or opera, but I'd probably say Chrome would be a tad better.

Can't say I see the need for SUPERAntiSpyware to be loaded on startup either. Spybot would do everything with SAS would do, also TeaTimer, a program which is associated with Spybot is energy draining. SpywareBlaster is probably a better alternative to it.

Do you need google toolbar? As personally I don't find it essential.

Avast may also free up some space instead of using AVG, AVG always crashed my laptop and well Avast is a lot more secure!

Cheers, ye going to get rid of Spybot anyway, don't need it. I have SpywareBlaster too.;)

Google toolbar is part of the PaddyPower toolbar, and that's essential.:D I'll dump it!

Had Avast before and didn't like it so I've stuck with AVG.

I have to admit I don't personally like the sound of the monotonic woman's voice saying everytime you open up your laptop "Virus Database Updated"

I would disable both adobe listed as adobe will still work fine without these on it just takes some more time to open as in seconds.
msnmsgr as well would be a good one you can just lauch this when you need it.

Also i would also check ie for add ons some of these can really slow your computer down. Disable the ones you know what they are and dont use or need

Would recommend Cc-cleaner to anyone having problems with CPU and RAM. It cleans away all junk files and can disable start up program's which usually are the cause of slow downs.

Just make sure to un-tick the boxs of the Internet browser your using or it'll delete saved password and such.
