Just wondering if anyone has any non alcoholic hen nite ideas - my sister is getting married in Dec so arranging hen for November. She is not a drinker so pubs are a no go.
I have talked to a few friends but they've all been to drinking hens so I want to know if anyone has been to a hen which did not involve drink (please bear in mind with weather in Nov outdoor activity in Spring/Summer wouldn't be quite as enjoyable!!). Should be a group of 15 Munster area preferred.

    Thanks.....

    How about a spa/hotel night?

    Massages, pool etc.

    Or various beauty treatments....:)

I'm not much of a drinker and don't really like pubs so I was thinking of going for a meal and then perhaps a comedy gig or something. But that's just me. :)

    My sisters the same

we're going to try go-karting as it doesn't really matter about the weather.

it's great fun and there's a great place to do it in county Limerick.

Following that go our for a nice meal and just have a genuine laugh around the table

there's also paint balling which is great fun-the only thing is you can get quite bruised from it so it would want to be a good distance away from the wedding but we did it last year and everyone absolutely loved it-that's also done in County Limerick

    Hope it helps

What about a day at a cookery school?

I've been looking at hens and thinking more of activities then drinking too: there are holiday cottages in Dingle that do hen packages: you get greeted with a champagne & peach juice fountain (i know drink isn't a big deal but the novelty would be fun!) and a chocolate fountain. They do deals with the spa next door and there's a bowling alley next door (great craic with friends). And they do organise things like pottery classes or ceili's etc if you want more activities?! :D

The other thing I've been looking at is a murder mystery weekend: there's a hotel in Tipp doing one in November aswell: I really would LOVE this but I think I'd be doing it on my own cause none of my crowd would do it!!!

God these things all sound so much fun!

I love the idea of a day at a cookery school

What about something like an ann summers party too? Might not be her thing?

Or I saw some photographers that do a special makeover + photoshoot day

I think go to a really nice hotel for a night, get some spa treatments done during the day, e.g. mani / pedi / massage, and then go for dinner!

thanks for the ideas - should say trying to keep budget low too with all expense of wedding to consider. Might go with the Ann Summers party I know that's good fun and no one has to pay out as much as hotel, restaurant etc would cost.
    thanks again

We had a (virtually) booze free hen - in the summer and it was lovely but summer ideas are no good. The fly in the ointment was the coach driver who took us from one place to another who felt free to carp about what a dull hen party it was and we should have some drink! It wasn't a bit dull, we had a good laugh and enjoyed the day.

Eeek! Don't go with an Ann Summers party while sober!

How cringe would that be!!!!!! Trying on costumes and underwear in front of all your friends while sober.

I wouldn't have put on half the yokes I put on or fiddled around with half the "toys" either if I wasn't drinking!!!!!

How about a sleepover/dvd night - 80's movies, popcorn, icecream etc. You could do it in your house. Or actually! I think there is a hotel in Athlone that does this as a package....
