Anyone want to shed some light on what happened to this?
I notice the thread that was up on sunday about it has dissapeared, any reason for this?
Does anyone care or was I the only person stupid enough to try and attend it?:pac:

I noticed that too. Mods, i appreciate that the "no questioning mod decisions" rule is there, and it's your forum to run as you see fit etc but... I really do think that threads "disappearing" isn't a good way to encourage people to post here. Particularly when (in my opinon at least) they're letting a lot of people know about something that could affect their martial arts practise in a very real way.

There is no record of any deleted threads. Anything deleted by anyone is always visible to mods, I can only assume that the thread was deleted by the OP so it is gone for good.

Only an OP or a mod can delete a thread, and the mods in this case didn't delete it AFAIK

I did hear all the bad reports about them but wanted to compete and was just being optimistic and decided to check it out for myself, or not as it transpired.
    Anyway lesson learned.
They are a bunch of tools.

Then they so interested in the competition, coming out talking Pligg hand ... and the fact of being organized by the only Brazilian to be found here in Ireland as a teacher ... I speak for the guy, he is very good and has good experience in events! More like he is not in his parents, and facio says so ...

    Why was the event canceled?
Why was no attempt made to notify anybody about the cancelation?
Do you want the pirates black spot, because it's coming your way.

Look, I don't know the details of what happened. I know organising events is difficult, with people entering late, entering at the wrong weight, not showing up, all sorts of problems. I also accept that you may have plenty of experience in running events, and making them work - but not in Ireland. You need to work on your communication, that seems to be your main obstacle to making things work.

Speaks of the predicament, everyone talks, no?
The reason which was canceled the event, and we had a great personal predicament with one of the organizers of the event ... and we would not find adapting to organize the event just the day of the event. ... I can only apologize to those information. People apologize for any inconvenience cause came ....

Soon we will be disclosing the date of our next event.

    thanks

MCT is not into verbally exchange of insults, and will not use any form of mass media for such a thing(like this board).

For the last time we would like to apologize for any incovenience caused, the reason of the sudden canceallement of our latest event was a referee pulling out just the day before the event for personal reasons he does not want to make public, leaving us with no time to find a replacement, since we would never put a random person, just for the sake of it.

The only thing we promisse and guarantee in our events, is that we will try our best, to make a good, fair and enjoyable event.

For many times we have asked athletes to enroll for our competitions with at least a week of advance, two events ago, we had an average of 30 athletes, in which about 7 enrolled with a week of advance.

Our first event received very good reviews too, and critics and insults(being the last, coincidently of course, by the mouth of those who lost). But all of that goes without saying by those badmouthing us now, if one out of ten of your events fail, you will be remenbered for that one, and they will forget the other nine.

However, we would like to thank our friends and those who are with us, criticising, but with constructive critics.

And we are proudly to announce that not only we will continue to organize events, as we will announce a new date for the cancealled event, when you do these things, you have to be open and prepared for all sorts of odds, but we know ourselves, and we will make it up for all those, who just like us, love BJJ.Please, get involved, get in touch with us, all critics will be heard and take into consideration, this is how we can have a feedback from you, and improve our standarts for the next events.Ireland is a great soil for BJJ, the sport seens to have been embraced and loved by the Irish, and all the other nationalities that are here now, but only together, we will be able to fully explore the Irish potential in the sport, and that is what we are about.

Thanks for your atention and patience, we understand that you feel disapointed, but we will make it up.

    Kindly Regards,
    MCT Events

Morecegao, You can only be judged on your last event. Make your next one flawless and attitudes will change. Stick to what you advertise, dont change the prize money or structure on the day.

I've only been to one event run by your team sometime last year. It was well run with the competition area cordoned off from the spectators, entertainment, and most important of all a good turnout and good competition. The quality of the refereeing was my only concern at the time but with the recent course run by Liam at Pedro Bessa Cork, there should be plenty of qualified referees available if you contact them.

Just to reiterate, you can only be judged on your last event. Make the next one perfect. "Build it and they will come" :D
