Pick-up football games?

I'm American (don't judge me yet haha) and I'm in Galway for four months (stuidying at NUIG) and I wanted to play some football. I was wondering if there were ever any pickup games or anything that were played around the area. I don't want to go four months without kicking around a football once

When the weather is fine there are usually a few kickabouts down the 'swamp' (go over the bridge at the Spanish Arch and head left), in the green at NUIG and the pitches in Westside. Usually no problem joining in.

Join the soccer club in the college too. I'm pretty sure they train twice a week at the pitches in Dangan

Yep you're competing with Ireland youth internationals though if you want to join the soccer club apparently.

Same for the GAA. You'll be going for a place on the team for NUIG or GMIT against inter-county players.

It is very hard if you're crap. If you're not crap then it won't be very hard. Simples.

American Football does not exist in Galway either, so you are pretty safe, Clint.
