Ok, I do adore my son more than anything in the world, but there are times he does my head in.

For example, he has thrown the wood shavings belonging to the gerbils cages all over the floor several times today. I am about to hoover the floor for the sixth time today and it is only 3.35pm.

There are days I just feel like screaming! :(

I would have made him pick them up himself!
Sometimes small girl gets in to similar moods and the more you say no the more she wants to do it.
    *hugs*

Yep my little one loves to "spill" her juice sometimes...

My son used to do things like that ALL THE TIME, several times a day. Loved pouring things all over the floor, painting the oven with his yogurt, making a seaside in the living room with ash and water. ANd he knew it drove me crazy.

I think they get a secret thrill out of watching their mother get annoyed and have to clean up.

How do I stop Megan growing up and turning into a terror? :D

She's an angel at the minute but I know my day will come...

My boy (2.5 years) loves standing in drawers right now. He started it to get at the video player and be able to rewind his movies himself, and now he does it everywhere, and just for fun! Soon, he'll bust one of the drawers I am sure...

Addison seriously testing my patience today... keeps climbing onto the windowsill... have taken her down, put her in her seat, she screams to get out, get out, back up, back down, seat again, more screaming... threw a box of Sunshine Orange ALL over the hall... she hates the hoover so screamed while that was on.... She's back on the windowsill... pointing at the tree's and car's and dogs... honestly... when is it bedtime??? Had to close windows so she wouldn't climb out...

jesus i thought it was bad that Elisha (5 1/2months) loves to sing. Like seriously its so cute but she starts doing a Mariah and its like shut up all ready u've been singing last 2 hours. Also she's so nosey like if she hears slightest noise when drinking bottle she'll swing her head to noise and wont drink bottle. Also she loves rolling and i'm sick of putting on nappies backwards. Like its horrible when she has dirty nappies as she ends up with poo everywhere no matter what i do she either rolls over or kicks her feet into it

Emma loves pouring her milk all over the floor, and making a mess in general, she's just woke up from her post lunch nap so i not only got some internet time :D i have the whole floor mopped and clean....

i love her more then anything in this world but moments like now when she's quiet and reading her books are few and far between...

no never-mind as i was typing the fridge magnets and a few magazines have been shredded across the floor :(...

Aidan's new thing is climbing on my bed, but he can fall off it really easily and his cot and 2 bedside lockers right next to it, so that is a danger, as is trying to climb onto the door of the dishwasher!!!

We also had a very bad nights sleep last night! Only thing that would stop the crying was looking at the gerbils in their cages. One thing I can guarantee I do not want to be doing at 2.30am is looking at gerbils nibbling food!

It's nap time in my house at the minute, wohoo :D Love quiet moments like these.

I love them both so much but peace in this house is a thing of the past haha. Addison decided to draw on her blackboard with crayon... the whiteboard is already ruined with it... oh well...

Its not. Its not fun. You wanna scream now.

In 18 months you will want to hang yourself from the rafters.

Piece of advice: stick the permanent marker pen you use to write the child's name in his or her jackets and bits and pieces in a safe with a lock so you don't find that it has been used to decorate the tv screen.

Hmnn. Heres a good one. Sand from the sand table brought in to make a beach in the living room. Amazing the fun they can get up to while you are making one lousy phone call.

How am I not on prozac?

Ah come on!! It's not that bad... they can be naughty and cheeky but they're not doing it to spite us, they're babies, they don't know what they're doing!!

She's done the sand thing already :)

    Don't let it stress you.

Metro, when I was a toddler I opened and sprayed 2 full containers of talcum powder all over the sitting room because I wanted snow! I can honestly say I am lucky to be alive! (dark carpet and chairs)

Aidan has been up screaming tantrums the last 2 nights for ages and I really do not know why, once I gave him the bottle he was fine last night, but the night before I was up for well over an hour with him. The only thing that settled him was watching the gerbils in their cage for 20 min, Cheeky begger there is nothing wrong with him but he is getting fierce tantrums alot recently! Terrible 2's here we come!

Also while i was getting his juice for his dinner yesterday I tripped over his ball which he dropped right in the middle of the kitchen floor, fell and hit my knee really badly. I wasgasping in pain and he was in stitches! Fécker! And as only a mummy could, I was army belly crawling to the juice bottle, which had rolled away, because I had not finished screwing on the top and it was leaking on the floor!!!!

And the reason you are not on Valium, Prozac or any of them, is EVERY mum needs them and I don't think they could supply us all!

do you know how hard it is to get the stuff off carpets...:( never get it completely off the couch either :D

Yep, I was saying to her the other night about Addie trying to climb out the window and she reminded me of that and said it couldn't get any worse than that!

My mom has nicknamed Jack, Mr Destruction. He's like a whirlwind. He enters a room and within 10 seconds it's turned upside down.

I'll echo the "I love him to bits but..." comments.

Sweet Jesus he was glued to me tonight from the minute I picked him up from the childminders. Couldn't put him down, wouldn't eat his food, didn't want to be inside, only outside would do. I'm wrecked from carrying him around. Start walking child!

Megan has become very 'pinchy'!! She loves to pinch just the tiniest little bit of flesh, usually my bingo wings, when she is getting her bottle and going to sleep, and its REALLY sore!! I can't tell her NO in a stern voice as she only does it when she is going to sleep and I don't want to wake her up. I know she's not doing it on purpose but its really annoying and did I mention sore??

Addie used to do it too! Painful... and only when she was going to sleep haha

Thank god my son isn't the only one who pinches. I know he isn't trying to hurt me but it really does. I have said NO in my cross voice a few times but he just looked at me puzzled. Usually when I say no he throws me a cheeky smile because he knows he shouldn't be doing whatever it is he is up to.

my daughter (nearly 2) was jumping on the bed this morning and i told her stop like 10 times. my husband picked her up and said look at her, and she is doing cute faces and peekaboo with her hands, 'how can you give out to her' says daddy. when i eventually smirked, he patted her on the back 'got your back love' Hmmmn, what about my back?
    She has him already!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,124 ✭✭✭wolfpawnat

My little fella doesnt pinch, but what he does is grabs the lining of my top and just rubs it! He did it with my hair a few times too, so I cut it all off! :D

Yes daddies always have their backs! Aidan destroyed the house in recycling rubbish the other day and as soon as I said the word Aidan, his dad already was laughing and playing with him! How are you supposed to discipline them when daddy is twice as bad:rolleyes:

As the only girl in my family I know how easy it is to wrap daddy around your little finger. I didn't plan on passing on my knowledge to Megan but she's picking it up from somewhere! She's a real little daddies girl

Dearbhail is grandads girl she makes no secret of it at all either. She sees 2 of them regularly and she has them wrapped around her little fingers and knows it.

Moonbeam, Jack is a granddads boy. He adores my dad. I feel a bit sorry for my mom because she minds him all the time but his face just lights up when he sees my dad.

Addison is a total grandads girl too! She does a little happy dance when she see's my dad! She loves him so much, and the feeling is mutual haha! I often get phonecalls most mornings from him with "where are my grand daughters? are you bringing them around to see me today??"!!

I think they love old men. I've noticed this with my son. He has no grandfathers but he loves my great uncle and friends of the family who are men seniors.

AGH! DD2 did this to me for months - and I hear you about it being sore!!! She'd go on the soft underside of the skin, the neck & the fleshy part around the thumb! I finally started putting her hand in a sock b/c I found she would *only* pinch bare flesh, so if her hand was socked than she couldn't find any skin.

Its true!! If I put a long sleeve top on she'll pinch between my fingers or my neck and chin and if she can get it, my nose!!

    Might try the sock! :D
