Student taxation entitlements

    Hi there,
    I am a studetn currently on work experience where I'm finishing up on Friday and returning to college Monday.
    Over the past 8 months while working I've been paying PRSI, Income Levy and Employee PAYE.
    Also seen as though I've been living out of home I've been paying rent and bin charges.
    Some people have suggested I may be entitled to claim back some of these expenses but I would prefer some more knowledged information before setting out trying to claim back some of the above and finding out I can't do so.

    You are eligible for Rent relief and Relief on Service charges

    Depending on what you are doing in college, you may also be entitled to Tax relief from tuition fees

    If your income is under €15,028 (the last time I checked!) over the course of the year you can claim back the income levy you paid too.

    You can wait for the end of the year and request a P21 Balancing statement to allocate your unused credits.
