I'm wondering is there any way to cancel/change a PPS number.

My wallet was stolen recentely and it contained my PPS card.

    Hope you can help. :(

There are probably easier ways but the way i know of is to go to your local social welfare office and request new one. It's sent pretty quickly (2 weeks from my experience) and in the mean time they will give you a temporary card for collecting your social welfare payment.

Is this the white card with blue writing? If it's the same one that you use to collect Children's allowance then just give the dept of social welfare a call and they'll cancel it there and then and issue you a new one. I had mine within 3 days.

there is a new security protocol set up for the green pps card(free travel card in my case) there are two security questions set up, a photo on the card itself and your signature to prevent fraud, get your son to go into the local social welfare office and report the card lost/stolen and they should set him up with the new one, also bear in mind he will need either his long birth cert or passport to confirm id.

His photo will be saved on file. They'll just issue another one after the questions are correctly answered.
