Argos have tents on offer at the mo. They have a two man pop up for 17.99. Its scanning at the till for 27.99 but their own in store leaflet has them at 17.99. The leaflet is the tabloid newspaper sized one, displaying specials up to September 7. The tent in question has a 2000mm lining so should keep out all but the absolute worst of the weather.

    Great timing for EP:D

thats the one, it shows at 17.99 on the brochure, but is listed on their system at 27.99. You have to pick them up on it, but they dont question once you show them the advert

Sweet! I've reserved one. I'm gunna head over and pick it up now.

I'm normally so flaad after camping and festivals etc I just leave my tent where it is and head home. If I can pack this one away in under a minute then happy days!

Anyone know the height on this tent?
I've checked the argos website and no height measurements there, so if you get it can you advise.

Handy alright but if you think that packing it away is easy, think again. I had one before and it was a nightmare to pack away. I guess I didn't have the motivation of some poor Chineese kid with some dude standing over him with a big stick! Easy put up alright and the price is certainly right. I got one a few weeks ago in my local homebase. It was marked down to €11.99, it's a four man, 1 skinner. Grand if it's not bucketing down. Put it up in the back yard to test out and only took around 5 mins. As I say it's only a 1 skinner but will do for the picnic certainly especially as the weather is giving good.

Rain is forecast as far as I know! So where do I get this leaflet with the lower price on it ? Are they instore ?

Just got mine in argos Cork City.

Someone had been in there before me cause the catalogue I went to was open on the page with the tent. Unfortunately for that poor bugger I had the last one on reserve.

Had to argue with the girl on the till a bit about the price. She was saying that's the UK price. I pointed out the euro sign on the leaflet and she then got the manager to sort the price out. I'm fighting the urge to pitch it here in the office but the impending embarrassment of not being able to put it away is stopping me.

Here's a handy video(Even this guy seems to struggle):

There's 3 left in Mahon Point.

Just a word of warning: as has already been mentioned, this is a single-skin tent. Is doesn't matter if it rains or not, condensation will run down the inside of the tent during the night. It's not nice to wake up to a wet floor and walls. Look for something with a flysheet i.e. double-walled. The condensation will form on the outer wall and drain away.

Some reviews on the Gelert pop up tent over at Amazon confirm my first point.

That can be sorted simply by not breathing...

yeah forgot the condensation issue, but 1 dude in a 4 man tent, grand, trick is to not let anything touch the walls if you can. anyway, €11.99, can't beat it. Talk to me after the picnic if it rains though....My be subscribing to the pay peanuts, get monkeys theology!

Just a little follow up on this one.

My tent was brilliant! THX OP!

There was some condensation which i wiped off in the mornings but all in all this is the best tent I've ever owned. It really got put to the test on the 3d night. It rained like a mad bastard! Next morning there was a little bit of a puddle by the entrance but I was dry as a bone. Think the puddle was due to a little gap in the zip.

Some girl came upto me and started talking to me just as I was folding the it down. Took all the consentration I had to do the 2 things at once!

I had a similarly cool experience, although without the bonus of the cute girl.

Really did have my worries going back to the tent on Sunday night from Massive Attack, but she stood and she stood dry.

    :D

    Hear hear

The €17.99 pop up is the best purchase I have ever made

Up seconds, down in minutes, easy to carry and boy did it handle the rain on Sunday night (better than some other bigger tents around me)

    No bother about condensation either.

    Thanks OP.
