Wireless Printer for Imac

I'm also quite new to the whole Mac experience but loving it so far. I want to get a printer for my machine. The household only has one computer so I don't want any more expense other than paying for the printer. Will a wireless printer need Airport to work with the Imac? Can a wireless printer print from Imac without a router? Or will I have to stick with the USB printers? Thanks for your help!!!

It depends what printer you buy. Some wireless printers will talk directly to a computer without a router (I know HP can work this way) then others need a router (much better way to do it IMO).

Once the printer states it has wireless it will work with a Mac, Airport is basically Apple's name for Wifi. Even if you do get a USB only printer, you can buy an Apple Airport Express for €89 which will allow you to make any USB printer a wireless printer.

Recent enough thread here about wireless printers http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055958182&highlight=printer
