Nantes to Rennes and vice versa

    Hi,

    I'm traveling from nantes airport to rennes next sunday (5th) and i am a bit worried about what to do, i have never traveled this route before and i do not speak any french whatsoever, i am just wondering has anybody travelled this route before and if so any tips or ideas how i should do it... i believe i may have to get a bus from the airport to nantes train station and then a train to rennes possibly, but i am not sure...

    I have also found this site for car pooling, i wonder if anyone has used it before, however language barrier is a problem again...

    Train from Nantes to Rennes: I use this site, which is in French http://www.voyages-sncf.com/billet-train. Even if you don't speak French, you can probably guess your way through things for researching possibilities (especially if I tell you that "horaires" means "timetable"). There seem to be plenty of trains, averaging at least one per hour, and with a typical journey time of about 90 minutes.

    Learn how to pronounce "bonjour" (good day), "s'il vous plait" (please), "merci" (thank you) and "parlez-vous anglais?" (do you speak English?). Smile a lot, and you'll be fine.

    It can be difficult getting accommodation near the station in Rennes. If you need to sort out something, book ahead, even if it is only a couple of days ahead.

    Stayed in the All Seasons Hotel across from the trai station in Rennes last year - clean, good value. Metro stop at the station will whisk you up to the city centre which is an attractive spot esp. up around the old town part.
