Haven't got the Sunday world link but I believe its page 32. This is essentially the article they have.

Must be a really really slow news day.
Tanya Tate Invited to Speak by University College Dublin Law Society
    Aug 24th, 2010 01:30 PM
LOS ANGELES—Liverpool-born adult performer Tanya Tate is currently in the United States, striving to duplicate the success that she already has achieved in England and Ireland. But now, an exciting appearance request tempts her to return to Europe.
A mere 18 months ago Tate launched her adult entertainment career in the U.K., becoming an adult star in England. She then filmed Tanya Tate’s Sex Tour of Ireland for Television X, which rocketed her into the Irish mainstream. Making the front page of Irish newspapers has firmly established Tate as a top adult star in that country.
Now the University College Dublin Law Society has reached out to the popular beauty, requesting that she speak before the university's students. Tate was asked to discuss the future of the adult entertainment industry and her experiences in confronting the prejudices that arise from her chosen career. The discussion is set to take place on Sept. 14.
The UCD Law Society is one of the oldest and most prestigious student societies in Ireland. It also has the largest membership of a student society in Europe: more than 5,600 students. In the past, the UCD Law Society has been addressed by many dignitaries, not only from the worlds of law and politics, but also from those in sports, literature, television, theater and the arts in general. Former guests include U.S. President Bill Clinton, Hollywood star Jeremy Irons, The Simpsons star Nancy Cartwright, and Scrubs actor John C. McGinley.
Unfortunately, previous commitments in the United States preclude Tate from appearing. “I am very sad that I cannot take part in the event,” she said. “An opportunity as special as this, I don’t take lightly, but I must honor my commitments.”
Tate added that she is “willing to record a video discussing my opinions for the students of the UCD Law Society.” Should the UCD Law Society take her up on her offer, Tate will also make the video available online, inviting discussion.

Largest membership of a Student Society in Europe? Last I checked they didn;t even have the largest membership of Student Society in UCD...

Edit: As of end of Freshers week last year, L&H had 4,831 members, Lawsoc had 4,120. So either over 2 and a half thousand people joined Lawsoc over the course of the year or, more likely, the Sunday World didn't do their research. Like, at all.

Nah, its actually true. 1,500 did join lawsoc last year over the course the year.

Well not quite. 1000 joined Lawsoc over the course of the year. Mainly at events, there were signup tables at Tucker Max, Bill Bailey, Jeremy Kyle, Noam Chomsky and the Lisbon debate. Noam Chomsky itself was probably the biggest. 1500 people went to that event, most of which were older, a lot of postgrads and lecturers so they didn't join on freshers.

Then there is undeclared membership. Life members, automatic members ect. The signups made from freshers week till the end of semester 2 aren't the number of members its the number of signups.

In short, I don't know whether or not its the biggest in Europe. But last year by the end of Jeremy Kyle it was certainly the biggest in UCD.

Good ole Law Soc, don't suppose Richie has still got a hand in running it?;) In fairness, it probably was a slow news day.

The porn debate nearly always makes the papers. Claire Tully and others have done it down through the years.
