I'm not 100% on music skills but I think as you'll be doing Digital Audio Production in 2nd year you will need to pass it. Your best bet is to contact the course leader her email is ccahill@wit.ie or the school of science science@wit.ie they will be able to tell you more

Pretty sure you're in my year. One of the lads when to the Chart Office and the School of Science office. They both said that in the first year of our course there are no main subjects that must be passed, so you can carry any two fails. He used Maths and Music Skills as an example, and they said you can carry both.
Its a different story for second year though, but for now you should be fine. If you can get it contact with Caroline Cahill (our 'course leader' for last year who I spoke to once, and still leader according to the wesbite) or Brenda O Neill (who is now the course leader according to the up-to-date info on the course from the Postgraduate book) then all the better, but Ive been trying to email them and havent gotten a response.
We will be doing Digital Audio Production as shanemul said so you would be in a much better position to have passed Music Skills. As for the star, honestly couldn't tell ya.

I'd suggest attending the classes from Sept 7th anyway and see how the first few go, but organise a meeting with Caroline anyway if she is still the course leader.

If you've sat repeat exams and want to continue to second year, its always suggested to attend all classes from Sept 7th up until the repeat results come out. It sucks waiting for the results, but for the moment they won't/can't do anything about the timeframe. Once the results are out you could make a definite decision then, and after all it is only two weeks from starting up until lectures.

    Got a reply
    Hi MitchKoobski
No problem - I am confirming that any student of Multimedia can progress carrying a maximum of ten credits and all modules in year one are worth five credits each. Therefore, any student can progress carrying a max of 2 modules.

I hope this clarifies things and please feel free to contact me again if you've any further queries!

    Kind regards
    Caroline
