Parking on Kevin St

Hey,

What's the story with parking on the Kevin St campus?

I'm doing a part-time course so it'll be on in the evenings, any idea where to park?

I think after a certain time you won't need to bother with pay and display. There's free parking all day long up around the Blackpits on a few streets if you look hard enough though.

Aungier street has an underground car park just around the corner. No idea how much it is though.

The aungier street car park is for staff only. Not sure about kevin street.

I very occasionally park on kevin st or around aungier st if i am running late...it is 2.90 an hour though :eek: which is ridiculous... however after 6/7 in the evening it is free, which is useful for the library.

There are limited spaces in the college after 5pm open to non-permit holders, but the queue starts around 4:30pm. Parking on Long Lane is free after 7 (pay for an hour and hope the mirrors are still on the car when you come back). Alot of streets like Camden Row are to be avoided (7am - Midnight payparking) although Elliots Cash and Carry has about 20 spaces free after 6pm. As pointed out before, Blackpitts across Clanbrasil St. is free all day but it's ten minutes walk (but it all depends from what direction you're coming in).

Assuming its still in place, its €2 to park in teh college of surgeons (Stephens Green SC) for the evening if you use the validaton clicker thing beside the main security desk in Kevin St.

I rang up Kevin Street the other day with the same question. I was told that I can park in their car park if there are places available. He told me that alot of the staff leave at around 6 so there should be places available. I think my classes start at 6.30 so hopefully I can park there. Really don't want to have to pay for parking for the next 2 years. That'll be a major pain.

He also said that I can park in the Royal College of Surgeon's car park also and then use the parking paying machine in the college and get it for half price.

I think if it becomes hard finding parking I'll have to find some way to drop my car off somewhere after work and then bus it in. Bit of a bummer, but suppose I can go for pints after.

Ah that's the most important bit. If I'm gonna have to give half my life up to get this masters, I might aswell be drunk for the other half!

yeah they had this when i went to DBS last year, anyone no if kevin street is included this year?
