MacBook will not connect to Internet.

My MacBook was connecting to the Internet perfectly, then I left it at home while I went on two weeks holidays, and now it just refuses to connect to the Internet in my house.
I've tried entering a new connection manually, I've tried turning off/unplugging the Internet, amongst other things, but nothing seems to work.

It's a standard white MacBook, and I've had it for almost three years. I also recently updated it with Snow Leopard.

Has this happened to anyone else? And how can it be resolved?

If you're just trying to connect over wifi, instead get an ethernet cable and set up through that.

Are you sure your internet connection is working properly. My macbook tended to not connect to the internet or connect and then not open sites from time to time.
Got really annoyed with this and tried everything to fix it. (my brothers mac never had a problem) Even took it too the shop and they told me everything is fine it must be the internet connection in the house.

Turns out my brother was supposed to update the broadband but never did and it only let one user on at a time and always seamed to prefer his mac to mine

Yeah my connection is definitely ok because my iPad, phone and PC are working away no problem.
    Thanks anyway!
