Bruised gum??

Megan is teething and so far doesn't seem to be in too much pain, but then we only have one tooth so far!

I noticed this morning that her top front gum, literally just where the tooth is at the front of the gum, looks purple and bruised. Is this normal when teething?

Her top teeth look like they're gonna pop out the front of the gums rather than along the bottom, the gums are just so hard and the teeth below are clearly visible.

She is crawling around and pulling herself to standing and has the odd bump, but never enough to hurt her (she never cries when she bumps down) so I guess it could be that she has knocked her mouth and hurt her gum, it just seems wierd that its only over the one tooth.

This happened to my son also, but once the tooth came through the bruising disappeared, think it might have been because he already had he's top teeth and was pressing his gums together a lot his teeth may have bruised the bottom gum. That my theory anyway:)
