When and how to wear this dress?

Hi, I got this Topshop dress, only it has grey, blue and blush pink flower pattern on it. sorry I couldn't find the exact picture of it!
I have no idea how to wear it! I've looked this style of other Topshop knotted back dresses and they're apparently for daytime or weddings but it has a bare back so I thought I might wear it for going out instead but I don't know what shoes etc to wear with it! Thanks!

I have the blue one, and know the one that you have. I wasn't quite sure what to wear under it either, because of the shape at the back. Settled on a navy and cream striped string top. You could go for something like this or this.

For night time, you could go bra-less, or try a bandeau like this.

I noticed that when I wore it without tights/leggings, it was a bit short on the sides for my liking. I'm 5'7", so depending on your height you might find the same. I just put a body con skirt under it do add an inch or so of fabric.

Dark brown wedges would be nice with it, I think. Schuh, or maybe flat brown ankle boots.
