Combi Boiler - Dublin City?

I am doing a fairly big house renovation in Dublin. After extensions I'll end with 179 m2 4 bed house, 1 main bathroom, 1 ensuite and a downstairs toilet - this room will have shower but it will rarely be used. All good stuff so far.

I want a combi boiler!! Had one in the UK and logically they make total sense imo.

I've been lead to believe that I could get away with a storage combi (can brand names be posted here?). Obviousily mains is not great. I'd lose the emersion but with need to keep to attic tank so that this can be pumped to the combi?

Any of the regular "plumbing" dudes come across such a proposal before.

I'll also have UFH to 35m2 kitchen extension - not sure if this a factor but thought I'd mention it.

    Thoughts and opinions welcomed.

Your house is probably too big for a combi ,it would be more economical to have some sort of storage/cylinder.

Theres a certain flow rate from any combi ,is there going to be just two people living in this house ?

When a combi breaks down ,you can't even wash yourself.

A combi in the UK would normally be fitted when space was a issue, it would be unusual to fit a combi when a hot water storage system can be fitted, the installation would still have to meet certain requirements to make the installation viable

It's no good to you, after you have used up the stored water it reverts to a combi using a plate heat exchanger and it would also require good mains to give you decent performance.

you will not have a enough water to run a combi, you would need to have water stored to cope with your maximum usage requirements, if not your combi will run dry.

    not a factor

If you want a combi then you would need a large break tank feeding a 3 or 4 bar pump and a decent electric shower as a back up if the boiler breaks down, my advise to you is keep the stored set up and keep it simple, Gary.
