    Hi,

fitting UFH at the moment on both floors, when they assembled the manifolds for under floor they put in a extra port by mistake so i can blank it off or i could use it to heat towel rail/rad.

Anybody done this and how does it work?

will the water be hot enough to dry a towel not looking to heat the bathroom!!

how do I get the rail to be hot when i want it, ie. summer time!

    Thank you

You will not be able to use a towel rail off an underfloor heating system. You will need to buy a seperate heating element. I rec about 600w and then fill the rail with polyprop glycol or the equiv

The water in the underfloor system is regulated so its a lot colder than the supply to the towel rail thence the towel rail will only be luke warm if you take it off the manifold there . You need to tap into the pipework before the temperature mixing valve for the towel railss if you want to put them in. I have underfloor heating & I put in towel rails & think they are great , warm towels when you come out of the shower.

Normally towel rails would be taken off the primary circuit from boiler. This serves the hot water cylinder and is high temp. In the summer when hot water only is on, the towel rails come on too.
