Newbie with an Iphone 3gs here, Im having trouble getting apps, Ive set up an itunes account but when I go in to the app store icon and pick an app that I want it brings me to the page with info on that app, but there is nowhere where I can download it. No install button. Just as You scroll down it brings you up 3 boxes to tip, 1 being reviews, 2 being tell a problem and 3 send to a friend. What am I doing wrong? I am signed in too, so wondering can One of my enlightened friends here guide me in the right direction please?

Just hold the blue button down for a sec or two. It's in top right and gives the price or says free.

Below the title and to the right, there should be a button that shows the price or Free, like in this example.

Tap the button and it turns to a green Buy/Install button.

There is, click on the app you want, when it loads look to the right of the app name, in a blue box it either says the price it costs or free, click on that.

    Edit: nevermind, better explained above.

Are you signed in? Go to Settings > Store and sign in if you are not. If you are, try signing out and back in again.

Is it the same with every app? Try resetting the phone, hold the sleep button and the home button for about 10 seconds till it turns off

Yes, every app, tried resetting no joy. 1 Question whats the crack with restoring the iphone? Do i lose the songs on my ipod? and all pics and video recordings and notes and sim contacts etc?

when ya do a restore, it automatically creates a backup of everything so ya woint lose anythin, dont restore if ur phone is jailbroken

I had this issue after using a test (beta) version of os 4.0
I assumed it was to do with the software and maybe testers arnt allowed download apps like regular users
anyway did a restore and it was workin fine but then when i applied my previous settings (phone book texts calender etc)
the same issue would happen again
I had to basically start from scratch again!
bit of a pain but i got sorted!

Its all good, did the restore updated to the latest software etc, got the back-up and its now working perfect. One more silly one for the road, when Im recharging my iphone a pop up appears on my laptop asking to download a change to my carrier settings. Any of you good folk could give me an idea of what it is, I keep pressing cancel as i'm paranoid thinking that it wants to change something it shouldn't.

Ye are a world of help lads, Thanks very much!!
