I just came back from my first day (half day technically, I'm absolutely shattered) of skirmishing at Tigerland and I can't remember the last time I've had that much fun.

A million thanks to ddoom for getting my sorry ass down there after I pestered Danin for ages about the site. Unfortunately Bus Eireann are useless and I just couldn't get there before today. It is without doubt one of the most beautiful places I've seen and it's like it was specially grown for airsoft. The pics Danin posted just don't do the place credit.

Be warned though, this place isn't for the lazy or the unfit. The terrain that I saw (apparently the bit we played on today is only about 1/3 of the whole place) is challenging, but that's what makes this place fun. You actually feel like you're fighting in some jungle halfway around the world.

The lads down there are proper gents and made me feel welcome from the minute I stepped foot on the site. No arrogance, no elitist BS, just lads that like shooting other lads with plastic BBs. :D There's great chat to be had and friends to be made, but when it's time to play they don't mess about. I saw some great guns and loadouts and I'm looking forward to spending a lot more weekends down there.

If I had to rate Tigerland, even though its my first experience of airsoft in Ireland, I'd really have to give it 10 out of 10. Danin has done a fantastic job setting this place up and it really needs to hold the big games a site like this deserves. So, if you've been thinking of coming up but just can't find the time...make the time. It's well worth it and I guarantee you won't regret it.

Now if you'll excuse me I have multiple welts and sore muscles to tend to.

Edit: After posting this I stood up and it's possible I may have also broken my spine. I need a lady with the healing touch. :(

    Nice one Marcus,

You'll obviously fit in real well in Tigerland, having a great attitude and a real sense of fun in the shared experience of it all.

Look forward to seeing you there again.

Man, it's already 7 o'clock on Monday and my legs still feel like someone's been beating them with a lead pipe for hours. :( Gonna head to the chemist and see what they have for sore muscles. It's embarrassing really, I used to ride BMX when I was younger and my thighs were huge! It sucks getting old. lol Time to start working out again.

Just a small piece of advice mate.

If you find yourself in this sort of pain first thing you got to do is start walking for half an hour the day after to loosen the muscles up pain is caused by a build up of lactic acid in the muscles because they are not used to this sort of exercise.
Second if you do start walking every second day for at least half an hour build yourself up to 1 hour then hit hill walking.

This will solve your problems with pain in your legs you loose some much needed puppy fat on the legs and you tone your legs for much needed running and Airsofting.

Remember chairsofters will try tell you run miles every day do this do that but in the end walking for 30min will fix most of your problems and if you have a dog he will love the walking as well everyone wins.

Yeah, when I was working in Dublin I'd be on the BMX or I'd walk if it was a nice day. I'd do 8-10 km easy every day. 2 years ago I lost my job, moved up to Leitrim to look after the gran (her sight's going slowly but surely), and started playing those damn MMOs (EVE and WoW were my obsession). I've packed that in for good now and looking forward to getting myself back into shape. Thanks for the advice, lots of nice areas to walk around up here. The summit of Benbo is calling to me :D
