    Hey guys,

My little sister is going into 2nd year English and is wrestling with what modules to take. Just wondering what ppls opinions were of the various options? Which were easy/hard/interesting etc?

    Thanks!

List of second year English modules can be seen here:

    http://www.ucc.ie/modules/descriptions/page019.html
(The ones starting EN2--- are second year modules)

It would be impossible to accurately answer which ones are best/interesting because everyone has different tastes, interests and attention spans! :pac:

In second year you also take seminars. A list of those will be available to her when she goes to an introductory lecture.

I personally enjoyed American Cinema/Genre, and Old English language was by far the easiest. If you have any more questions feel free to send me a PM and I'll do my best to help. :)

I loved fiction last year, so I've decided to do 19th C. American Literature, 18th C. Literature, and Romance and Realism. Need to decide a fourth though. :D

As the post above said, it's all about her interests. Did she enjoy drama? If so, was it the modern drama with Cal Duggan?

Get her to narrow down her choices.
Does she want to do a joint degree with English? At least then she'll have to pick four modules which shouldn't be too difficult. :)
