Well, i'll be headin to TCD to do Dentistry, obviously, and was wonderin if anyone else has any experience of having done the course or knowing anyone who has done the course. Any info of course difficulty or things like this would be of great help..

Also a quick question to dentists

    "Do you enjoy your work?"

what's the point of researching now after you've picked the course?
Of course It's a hard course......But if you've the points to get in and put in the work you'll be fine!

My advice, keep your head down, don't get noticed for being good or bad. That will be the easiest way to get through the course. PBL can be annoying but its there to stay. Keep on top of your clinical competencies, get them done as early as possible and patient management is crucial here.

    Good luck.

the course is tough gong but it is a bit late to be worried now. Presumably you have done a lot of study to get the levels of points so if you work hard it should be no bother.

It will be hard getting used to not having everything spoon-fed to you and situations where there is no right or wrong answer. the hourss are long and get longer as you go on. The clincial side of things is hard to get used to, especially patient management and competencies as the Big G mentioned.

What i found hardest is your mates in arts or law or anything non-science really, doing 1 lecture a week and being on the piss all the time moaining abiout daytime TV!

But the Lincoln will ease all your pain!

Maybe they could de-novate it for the recession/depression & bring back its spit & sawdust charm.

    Pints for two punts...sigh.
