I was mixing them up for ages but I'm in shanowen hall

I still have the same questions though about strictness and that for the hall.

Square is brilliant. Stayed there last year and had no hesitation in returning in September again.

Security is grand, technically you can bring one guest back late at night but you'd get away with one extra, just talk to the guys and get to know them a bit. They don't really mind loud parties and all that as long as you shut up by midnight, and you'd be heading to town by then anyway. From my experience I'd say Hall is a small bit stricter, but obviously they're both miles better than what you put up with at campus res.

what's the internet connections like - I'd be hoping to bring the PS3 up and will probably be online a bit so - are wireless networks allowed or do I have to use the ethernet connections the whole time...

is there tv's and stuff provided for us or once again to we have to get our own...

This is a brill spot...not too strict at all! You will get to know the security guys fairly quickly!

    No tv's provided..bring your own!

No complaints about internet only that it used to sometimes get a bit slow at night when everyone would be on! You can defo use your own wireless if that's what u prefer...

Yeah internet is average at best. They'll supply you with your own modem which always needs to be connected to a telephone line. There is a connection in the living rooms but you'll usually end up leaving it in your bedroom. Also the ethernet cables aren't that long at all so bring your own if you'd like to browse while lying in bed :)

should be moving into Square meself! (depending on repeat results)

Lived in Halls last year, Square seems to be alot nicer and well kept. Halls isn't too strict if you don't have loud parties into the early hours of the morning and I hope that Square is more of the same!

Just saw this thread and would liketo have a little rant!
Shanowen Square is the worst place i've ever had the displeasure of living in, the management are horrible and don't fully check the apartments after you move out and try pin damages that were there already on you!
VERY expensive place, everything is extra on top of the huge rent price, internet (which is wired and hits about 0.5 mb, which is a disgrace for the price), parking, laundry. The apartments are freezing so during the winter you need the heaters on a lot, and then they charge EVEN more for electricity usage.
Absolute gang of thieves. Avoid if possible!
