is it possible to change broadband exchanges?

the idiots at eircom put me on an exchange in loughrea which is 13 km from my house. i've found a different exchange at gurteen, co. galway thats less than 2km from me. is it possible to switch exchanges? oops, posted in the wrong section. mods please delete.

All depends on where your cabling is ran from, ive know of a guy with an exchange 1km from him but hes linked to one 15km away and cant get broadband bacause of it.

You could ring eircom and see if it's possible.

Depending on how the cables are routed etc, it may or may not be an option.

You may also need to change your phone number.

Usually, you would have to just move house!
