Gave false name at GMHS clinic in baggot Street

    Had to visit the GMHS clinic last week for STI tests gave a false name and address

    Got by results texted back which were clear now i have a problem i have a follow up appointment for next week and i feel terrible about giving false info The staff there couldnt be nicer to everyone that goes there Should i tell them my real name and address

    Please help

    My friend had this same incident happen to her, where she had to revisit the clinic, she went in and admitted she has lied about her name and address and the people were surprisingly nice (I went with her this time for moral support) they said they had this sort of thing quite a lot especially with those in that age group ie 20s.

    I wouldnt worry, if they are nice and friendly as you said yourself then you'll be fine, remember these people are professionals and all info is confidential.

    Just try not to do it again :p

    To be honest I'd say 60% of people give false information because of multiple reasons (not out/ Married/ embarrassed etc) so they know to expect it and understand that everyone has their reasons. I think the fact that you turn up for the second appointment and show you are showing genuine responsibility for yours and others health will far over shadow any concern's about information you gave most likely in a split second moment of panic.
