Lightforce Striker 170, I use a scope mounted one, mostly use it hand held and clip it on for the shot, works very well.

I have two of these hand held and they are a clone of the LF 170 work very well, used for scaning the fields. I use a high powered LED torch fixed to the scope.

I bought a Ucaller lamp, and it does the business. Its great. My friend has a Lightforce 170 striker and as No6 said they are the exact same.

You would just save a few bob with the Ucaller, its a bit cheaper. Both great lights for fox.

Buy either and you wont be disappointed, Im happy with mine.

Well you can fit one if you want.
You can buy them very small money in most Electrical wholesalers eg Maplin Electronics

I get mine from Deben. Optics Warehouse/Planet do a cheaper version BUT that one is only rated to 50W whereas the Deben one is rated to 100W I believe. OW/P don't tell you that on their site though, I found out through the letterbox

Does what it says on the box, dims the light down. Helps getting in some foxes, less light if very often better. Quick twist and you're up on full juice for the shot. I think Clivej tested them and said they also save on juice.

I would not be without mine, too used to it now to go back.

    Isn't everyone! :D

IF, and it's a bit IF, I get some spare cash this year I'm going to invest in a 22amp battery, going to make sweet feck all weight difference.

Bulbs can save you power, if it suits your shooting and if you're using a Striker sized lamp you could downgrade to a 50W bulb. Some Strikers come with 75W and some with 100W I think, difference in handheld and scope mounted.

That and the dimmer is about it where power consumption is concerned. Well, besides having it off... I like to always have the lamp on, mostly because of the bad ground we have here, foxes tend to just appear.

I have the dimmer I got from opticswarehouse @30 pounds and it´s rated at 5amps but I have used it on 8amp hand held lamp for hours and it never burnt out or got hot.

You can get many more hours of useage from your battery by using the dimmer to reduce the lamp output.

Slightly off topic but as a few are looking at this I might as well ask.

Where can anyone tell me can I get the CORRECT replacement bulb for a Lightforce.

What has been supplied to me by a couple of shops have been well, feeble compared to the original.

    Thanks in advance
