    Story lads

Not too sure on the best way to go about this. I'm trying to record a mix on Traktor but I'm using an External Mixer so I can't just press record in Traktor, you have to re-input the music back into the laptop from the mixer right?

The problem with that is I've no usb ports left in my laptop cause I'm using a midi aswell, I've just a firewire available. I was thinking could I just get another laptop with something like Audacity on it and then connect it from the record out on the mixer and record that way. But theeeeen I was thinkin would I have to go and get another souncard aswell? or can you get just a rca to usb connection?

I'm fcukin sick of this digital poxy wire ****e!

Anyways, any advice on the best way to go about this would be deadly.

    Cheers.

What I do, is get a mini-jack to phono cable (one with a red & white wire on one end, and a headphone jack on the other, like €10 in town), plug it into the monitor out on the mixer, and put it into your normal line-in on your laptop. Then use something like Audacity (which is free) to record from the laptop line-in.

    Easy.

Mic input on your laptop? As long as it's a mini-jack input, same as the headphone slot, then yeah that's the one.
