Hi, I hope this is the right area. I want to offer static security services as part of my current business, but I am wondering if I need a license for this, or is it just the security guard that needs a PSA license? I am doing upa new brochure and just want to now if I can add security to it or if I need to get a license to offer these services first? Thanks in advance

Hi there i am currently a security officer and done a 15 week security course. As far as i know you will need a licence to offer this service. The only way you would not need licence would be for example if a shop wants to hire a security officer directly and not through a security company. Look up the psa website to find out more information.

Yes, you will need a PSA licence, as will your potential staff, before you can advertise/ offer security services.

That's where i'm a bit confused. I would be contracting psa licensed security guards, so why would I need a psa license unless i'm doing the security myself. It's not easy to get transparent info on this subject?

Yes but you see as a contractor you would need a licence to contract security making sure they are up to the standards needed etc etc. I have done a tiny bit of research on this and there does not seem to be any way to get around it really

You would need the license as well as the appropriate insurance.

    See there.
