Hey guys building a new gaming pc. My budget is €1200 but has to include a monitor in there also. I have OS keyboard mouse etc. Obviously the cheaper this comes out the better. I will be overclocking a lot so have to keep temps down. All prices from harwareversand.

    CPU: i5-760 = 180.66
    MB: Gigabyte UD3 = 114.29
    CPU Cooler: Scythe Mugen 2 = 32.99
    RAM: 4gb Geil value 1600 = 93.46
    HDD: Samsung F3 1tb = 55.18
    PSU: Corsair HX650 = 114.87
    GPU: Palit gtx460 1gb = 196.26
    Case: Not sure
    Monitor: Not sure

So that comes to 786 without a case and monitor.

Will that psu be enough for overclocking maybe another drive or two and another gtx 460 in the future?

As for case I don't care what it looks like just as long as everything fits in there and is kept cool. Don't want to spend much on that. Any ideas?

Any ideas on a monitor? Something 1080p around 21" - 24". Has anyone tried 3D monitors are they just a fad?

    Thanks.

I just picked up a Benq G2220HD from Komplett for €135, it's even cheaper from hwvs and it's a lot of monitor for the money I have to say. 22" 1080p, and after going through the windows colour calibration I find the picture quality excellent.

Oh, and be ready to pick up Irish power cords for your monitor and PSU, I got continental plugs for both from Komplett, I don't see why would it be different from hwvs.

Pretty sure they're obliged to supply a UK cord if retailing them here? Then again I've seen even miserable no-name panels come with both UK and EU cords in the box! :o

    That HX650 is way overpriced.
    Cheaper than that is
    Truepower new 650W - http://www3.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=31373
    S12D 750W (downside is that it's not modular) - http://www3.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=30023

For less than €2 more, you can get
    Truepower new 750W - http://www3.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=31375
    XFX - 750W http://www3.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=36376

All these are are capable of SLI & overclocking, but get a 750W if you think you need the extra room. They should all perform at least as good as the hx650, if not better. The XFX is the best performing out of those.
