Asking this for a friend who doesn't have access to the internet. She is having her first child.

Both hospitals are about the same distance away.

What would the pros/cons of each hospital be. Which one would be the better hospital?

I'm afraid I don't know anything about Mullingar Hospital but I had my little boy in Ballinasloe and I honestly could not say one bad word about them.
I ended up in there for over a month due to complications both before and after he was born and I was really treated very well, and so was the little man when he finally made his appearance.
I know in 2008 it was Maternity Hospital of the Year.
I have never heard anything negative about Ballinasloe.
In any case, best of luck to your friend.:)
