    William Hurt has signed to star in new HBO financial drama Too Big To Fail.
    The actor will play treasury secretary Henry Paulson in the television film, reports Deadline.
    The project will explore the recent recession and the power brokers who control the world's economy.
    HBO is believed to be looking to cast actors to play other major financial figures such as Paulson's successor Timothy Geitner, Leuhman Bros. CEO Richard Fuld and Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke.
    8 Mile director Curtis Hanson has already signed up to helm the film. The script has been written by Peter Gould, based on the book by Andrew Ross Sorkin.
    Filming is expected to begin in early autumn.
