Anyone feel the need for a thread on market reports?I,m interested in doing a market stall and find it hard to find which markets are worth a try around the country.
So let me start by telling you what I,ve found from my limited research around Co Cork.

Castletownroche;(sunday every 2 weeks) the best one so far ,busy from 9-2 and then tails off, lots of eastern europeans from very early but they hate spending more than 2 or 3 euro on anything but the locals come later and plenty of buyers till about 2-3 pm,not great if the weather is wet.lots of stalls and car booters and a large indoor area.

Rathcormac;(sunday once a month)busy in good weather with more car booters than stalls ,well worth a try

FERMOY; (every sunday))A quiet market at the best of times but a ghost town if Rathcormac is on

Mitchelstown;(every thursday)only got there once on a very wet day but the square was full of stalls and there was a steady trickle of buyers.looked promising.

I,m interested myself in reports from Kenmare, Clonmel (Dudleys mills) and the general munster region.
    regards
    Patrick

Ahorseofaman, can you say what you sell or would you prefer keep it confidential?

kenmare(sat and sun)quite enough with 7/8 stalls on sat and 4/5 on sun but the main market is midweek.
clonmel(dudleys mills)sun all ireland on so a bit quite but a nice little indoor market well laid out and regulars say its getting better as time goes on.
Fethard (sun)again its all ireland sunday but a busy place with plenty of stalls and a great play area for kids, busy enough considering the day thats in it and looks well worth try.
