I just after finding this page http://www.nuim.ie/courses/ it has all the modules from which you can pick for the upcoming year.

Yet again they have changed my now former course (CSSE) for the year below me as the only compulsory module we had was the 4YP but now they have added 3 compulsory modules and added two modules I did while I was in 3rd year. They have also changed the name of CS432 to CS422 Robotics and Automation.

Guh. Those are two modules I would rather not be studying.

Also there's something fishy there, because on the dept webpage CS356 is going on at the same time as CS424, but CS424 is listed as compulsory on the courses page.

They arent fun at all :/

There is seven lads from my year who took a year out after 3rd year will be lucky enough to get out of them modules.

They have also done away with Music Programming, it may be down to a lot of people doing exceptionally well in it and I kinda regret not doing it as it would have brought up my grade.

Yeah I noticed that as well, bit odd but I would def do 356 lets just say its very predictably.

One of the regular lecturers for that course on sabbatical, and the replacement lecturer that was doing it last year might not be around - so not 100% if it'll be as handy as it has been in past.

Ah. Yeah I'd tend to pick modules based on what I'm actually interested in rather than their "easiness to predict".

With the optional modules, just say you have to pick 2 do you have to do one in semester 1 and one in semester 2 or can you do them both in the one semester?

One in each semester I think.

2nd year economics students: Anyone else thinking of doing Public Economics in semester 1?? Anyone who's done it before care to share their views on it?? It seems fairly topical and quite interesting.

Thinking of Money and Banking in semester 2 aswell.
