Changing course during a year?

    Hi

    From begining I had problem with choosing my first choice. I wasn't sure which from those two choose:
    Computer and Electronic Engineering (GA570)
    and
    Computing in Software Development (GA775)

    After some time i choosed GA570 as first choice and GA775 as second. In first round i got offer for first choice (^.^).Now my question is:

    Is there possibility to change my course from engineering(if I will hate it) to software development during year?In first semestr or smtg.Or I will have to re-apply next year and start again?

    It is possible, but prepare to get a lot of crap from the college staff about it.

    I know someone moved into my course in about early november, she had to write about 3 letters stating why, her mam had to come down to talk to them, she had to talk to the head of the dept (she was changing dept) if she was allowed. Then got pressurized about going to the Castlebar campus.

    It depends as well if the course you want to change is full..

    Ps:I got points for both courses.

    It should be quite easy to change from engineering to Software because the two courses have the same classes for some subjects (maths, business...). Just go to your Head of Department and they should sort it for you.

    I'm really not sure but i'm in a similiar situation.

    I started with Applied Freshwater and Marine Biology and since our 1st year is common science aka Math, Physics, Chemistry and Biology i was able to switch to Physics and Irstumentation for this (2nd) year.

    I just sent the paperwork off today.

    I'd recommend calling your year head asap and they can give you a proper answer
    :)
