Does anyone have a copy of the English handbook from third year? The English department haven't sent anything out yet but I was just hoping to give a look at what they offered last year so I would have an idea of what modules to register for. If anyone has a copy of the e-mail from maybe last year or anything that would be great. Thanks!

Have you tried the departmental website? They will probably have a course/module outline?

Or call into the English department. That's what I did last year, called into my subjects' departments and got the course outline.

Their site is awful. Looked through and it only mentions seminars, no mention of actual modules. I know I can check the outlines on the book of modules but I just want to know what modules are actually being offered this year. They usually send an email with the attachments with the information for the year. I just wish they would bloody send it out. It would be nice to have a bit of time to decide what modules/seminars to pick and to make sure they don't class with other subjects. I guess calling into them would work, although the English department isn't known for their helpfulness or hospitality!

I have that somewhere I think (the paper copy not the email) but I'm in the process of moving atm so it'd be impossible to find! Should be done tomorrow so if I find it I can drop you a PM with a list of the modules at the weekend?

Ooh, I can tell you straight away if they put on Monsters and Men do that for your OMR module, it's class, handy exam as well

Cap'n, I have the booklet with me at the moment. If you send me a PM I can sort something out with you. :D

Thanks a million for the help!! I will definitely look into that class electrobitch. It sounds pretty good, one question though, I didn't do any old English or middle English modules last year, will this make any difference?

    Msg sent Cap'n! ;)

And nope, as far as I remember you don't need to have done Old English. But I'd advise that you give Beowulf a read. :pac:

Does this booklet contain more information on the modules than is offered here? If so, I wouldn't mind a look-see too... I'll be doing the HDip in English myself so will be taking modules from 2nd and 3rd year. Was thinking of taking Of Monsters and Men so I am glad to see it recommended here!

A little bit more info I think. The physical copy I have includes information about seminars and modules, but I don't have the time to type all that out. I do have a copy saved to my laptop that just deals with modules. I can email it to you if you PM me with your email address. :)
