    Looking for good foods to eat the day of a match, chicken and Pasta, Jaffa Cakes, Fig rolls, oranges.... any other suggestions ??

    problem with the Gels are they will give you a lift for about 20 minutes and then you'll start fading off again. You want a slow releasing energy source, isotonic drinks and ya can't beat a banana :)

    Always find fruit and jaffa cakes give you more energy with a natural sugar release.

    Loads of water or isotonic drinks too to prevent dehydration and muscle pulls/strains.

    Tinned pear halfs are my secret to success ;), usually have 2 or 3 cans the day of a game... beware of laxative like side effects though!

    You need some Powerthirst. Take a caffeine hit a few mins before a game.
