Has anyone difficulties with their iphone 4 and getting wifi signal? I'm with eircom broadband and the signal is poor throughout the house.

also has anyone used sinful iphone repo website?

    Same here with a 3G.

Nothing but trouble since I upgraded to iOS 4.

    Another sufferer here.

Had read on a few forums to change the router from WEP to WPA. I changed mine to WPA-PSK as I didn't see a password on the WPA setting and I don't know enough to know if anyone can access it using just the WPA setting.

It worked perfect using the WPA-PSK setting for about two days but now it has regressed to it's old behaviour - apps that need an internet connection hanging indefinitely despite the fact that Im getting four bars of wifi.

    Grrr:mad:

Well it's not just in my house that there is problems. Like when I'm down in my friends I search for wifi and nothing comes up but when I search using dessid alot of different wifi's are found. Then I search again using wifi in settings only to find nothing.

had a similar problem with my linksys router,
needed a reboot every couple of days...

installed tomato firmware on the router and the problem disappeared,
might have been coincidence, but it worked for me anyway.

Dessid will often find networks that are borderline accessible,
but the iPhone wifi settings will not find them as Apple requires a higher quality of connection

I see what you mean is there any way of solving it so anything that dessid finds, wifi will find also?

    Unfortunately not I'm afraid.
Better to look at it the other way, if the wifi settings can find it, then you can connect (and go off and get the key in dessid if you wish), but not the other way around.

I agree. But that's the problem. Wifi settings won't find anything in the first place.

if you can't pickup anything when you are next to the router you have a hardware problem with the iphone.

If its just in far away corners of the house though you might need to boost the signal or get a stronger router.

How is your bluetooth? Had a similar issue on 2 different 3g's where wifi and bluetooth would both act up. Wifi seeing less and less availabe networks, and refusing my correct passwords, eventually could not see any wifi networks, even next to router. Similar with bluetooth, losing synch to carkit, not able to pair again etc.
Was a fault on the phones, due to overheating i suspect. One done under warranty, one under insurance.
