What did they call the old days in the old days Dessie?

I'm so fuppin sick of that Bulmers ad on tv, not just because its dumb and juvenile but because its obviously trying to pander to a stereotype of thick Paddies.

Now I learn off an English mate that the same ad is being played under the Magners name in England. He said he thought the thick Paddy stereotype had gone out of fashion sometime in the late 80's but apparently not in Bulmers' book.

So instead they decide it prudent to show that stupid ad which ridicules the Irish all over the UK.

Here's the contact addy, you know what to do AH

The 'thicko' in the ad resembles a lot of people i know down here in scary not-Dublin rural Ireland.

They should work on stopping their Pear Cider being the best laxative known to man before they worry about their stupid ads.

Do we not have to get rid of the thick Paddy's, before we can get rid of the stereotype?

I love the Bulmers adverts .... certainly better that that gob****e Hook & the Sky adverts - now that's an adv that fairly insults the Irish viewer

'Anyway, about my washtub. I'd just used it that morning to wash my turkey, which in those days was known a walking-bird. We'd always have walking-bird on Thanksgiving, with all the trimmings: cranberries, injun eyes, yams stuffed with gunpowder..
Then we'd all gather 'round and watch football, which in those days was called baseball.'
