    Hi,

Does anyone run to or from work and how does it work out? I do triathlon so usually do two sessions a day so im looking to eek out any available time! My plan will be to get the luas to collage then run the 8ish k home. I may add in a few k if required. Anyone got a good suggesting for a rucksack that will be big enough to hold shoes, clothes etc without hopping around while running? I was looking at this bad boy ---> http://www.inov-8.com/Products-Detail.asp?PG=PG2&P=5050973035&L=26 any other recomendations?

    Thanks

I find the columbia mobex great, a couple of lock down pockets, no movement on your back, nice and rigid, and a handy pocket for a waterbottle at the waist..weighs next to nothing. The clamshell design is brilliant too.

I was doing this earlier this year when training for Connemara Ultra.
10kms in the morning from home to work and 10+kms in the evening.
I was always driving/cycling to work on Mondays to drop off work clothes, and Friday to bring work clothes back. So i never had to run with large rucksack.
Tuesday/Wed/Thursday was running with small CamelBack just to bring light stuff with me. The hard bit was to put smelly running clothes back on in the evening, sometimes still wet from the morning.

Full set of clothes incl shoes fits no pb in 20litre sack.
Compare a rucksack with a ladies handbag.. always full regardless of the size anyway:)

was a thread about this recently
i bring my running clothes in to work and run home once or twice a week. I don't carry my work clothes home as I run, just leave them in work and bring them home the next day.

At the moment I run home from work about twice a week. I've a few different Innov8 bags of differing sizes, and have tried to carry work clothes/shoes home in them. However, despite how good the bags are I've found it much more efficient/comfortable to just bring the necessary (wallet, keys, mobile) home in a small backpack and then separately transport the clothing/shoes on the days I'm not running home.

Salomon used to do a range of Day Adventure Racing bags these things are built to snug onto your shoulders and have handy waist pockets for you phone/keys etc. I have one and it's great, but the inov-8 one looks the job as well. Once it's designed for Mountain Marathon/Adventure racing it'll work out. Karrimor do a couple as well. A standard rucksack won't be great though, you need to be able to cinch it tight & comfy and have contoured shoulder straps that come into the chest. Use the chest strap and waist straps as they're made for and a good sack won't bounce.

If you could get a locker one option would be to :

    1) luas into college and run home leaving your gear in college
    2) run the next morning into college and get the luas home

This is provided you could go days without certain books and have shower facilities
