    Age-old problem really.

Because you're Irish-based (assumption), perhaps unique Irish products? (i.e. something that can't be made for half nothing in China).

I used to buy and sell telecomms equipment. If you know what you're looking for, you can buy it up cheap off someone with poor English and put it up on your page with lots of pictures and everything the customer wants to hear (list the benefits first, then detail the features and technical spec). Don't skimp on a good ad. I always show my products in a box ready to be delivered. Sometimes being in Ireland is problematic: you need to address this in your ad. I always tell the yanks I only deal with the main European Union express postal company and that they'll automatically receive the tracking number.

Find out what's big on Amazon and eBay.

Check out Google Insights for Search for what people are looking for online, and the monthly trends for the last 5 years.

For example, you can find out whether "star wars lego" or "indiana jones lego" is searched for more often. You can then check on Amazon and eBay and see if there are a lot of sellers.

Hmmm.... why even bother with the shipping and just covering Ireland? If there is a lot of demand and a lot of supply, then there's an opportunity for people with good sales and marketing skills to put the two together and earn a commission for doing so. The trick is creating value and a win-win-win situation.

    I hope that helps.

    Andy

    Buy Low.

    Sell High.

    Think Seasonal.

November- buy lots of 2nd hand Weight Watchers books on diets Anything at all to do with diets so long as its a popular proven product and not a fad.

    January- profit. :D

Been working for me for a while now....

Also if you don't mind being a bit morbid. Buy anything authentic and of value now that is associated with Nelson Mandela. This'll be the biggest death of 2011 and prices will sky-rocket, 300% returns not impossible if you choose right. -

yeah if i had something i could sell to the americans - it would really open things up for me - market wise. possibly something that would appeal to Irish americans for christmas? another direction i was thinking was the whole motivational messages side of things. People and especially americans eat this type of thing up during a recession?
