Hi all, looking for a bit of advise/help with my radio. Have bought a jap celica, all is flying except the radio which is driving me mental. It can't seem to tune correctly on FM and when tuned in other channels come in over it. I was told I could get a FM band expander, anyone know if these work and if so where? And how do u install. Thanks

Ebay have em. I would imagine any place selling ICE would have too. The one I had in the past plugged into the aerial socket and the aerial cable plugged into the expander.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I got a bandwidth expander from scansounds in Phibsborough they installed it aswell. Depending on where your ariel connection to the radio is located they can be tricky to install. On my Euro r the whole touch screen had to be taken out to fit this. The chap in there Ted i think is his name know his sh!t.

I got one from the local auto factors a while back. I can only get 4 radio stations and the reception is terrible.
Im sure some other types may be better but I wouldnt get my hopes up too much about the reception quality.
Mabye others on here may know of some good ones.

I'd recommend just buying a new head unit!
