I applied for it but theres only 260 places and 600 first yrs so I'm looking elsewhere too. What subjects are you planning on doing?

I did FETAC level 5 last year in Liberal Arts this year, so I will be choosing,

English, History and Human Development for defo!

    No Irish

Yea, I know another guy starting, he did the same course as me last year, he is from Drogheda.

Human development was on the course I did for FETAC, good craic and I would recommend it if you are thinking of going into teaching.

Yea, Matthews Coaches stops outside the college. I think registratiion is 23/24 Sep course starts Mon 28th so a few more weeks yet.

We had to do a writtem exam, aptitude test and an interview in May. Both of us were also offered Maynooth, but chose St Pats independently, so hopfully we made the right choice.

Pats was my first choice on the CAO but I realised after it was too late that I wanted my second choice which was arts in maynooth. The points went down which was unexpected so I was landed with this course. I might transfer next yr if I don't like it but that means fees so heres hoping that I do!!

Thanks! Same to you!! Tbh I'm not holding my breath. the course doesn't seem all that popular. Although, if it was just the 3 of us would they really keep it going? haha

Upon investigation I was informed from a teaching perspective, the course at St Pats is better recognised than Maynooth, one of the main reasons I chose it, points are higher for acceptance 375 v 415 St Pats.

There were over 100 mature students chosen for interview not sure how many were picked, but it is definately a tougher college than Maynooth to get into. I spoke to a guy who is already there he said there is plenty of craic to be had if thats what your into.

They told us a maximum of 25% would be mature students.

well as I said theres no mention of it here. maybe they gave more than 25% the course after they realised the leaving certs are not interested lol
