the ipod touch can play any music files that are in these formats:

audio formats supported: AAC (8 to 320 Kbps), Protected AAC (from iTunes Store), HE-AAC, MP3 (8 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3, 4, Audible Enhanced Audio, AAX, and AAX+), Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV.

you add the music to iTunes and then you can sync that music with your ipod touch. you are not limited to what sites you download off, i don't download music of any sites so i'm not sure what format it comes in but if it's in one of the formats above then it should be ok.

if i was you i'd wait until september 1st, there will be a new ipod touch released then, even if you don't go for the new one it will drop the prices of the old ones significantly.

seems like the music from those sites come in the format .mp3 so you'll be fine.

can't judge for certain as don't want to download their software as they probably don't have a mac version.

FYI i don't know my stuff, i just googled it ;)
