Thinking of going to Disneyland Paris with our two kids aged one and three.
Would they be able for it??
Is it easy to do with young kids?
Any information or past experiences would be great.

Personally, i would leave it a couple of years. My daughter was four when we first took her and that was probably a year or so too early.

    Sorry to hijack this...

Thinking of going to Disneyland around mid of October with our kids. Any thoughts about the weather? any recommendations?

Was it too big for her to walk, go on attractions etc??

it is a very long a day for them both when you get there and the travelling.

If you went, it wouldn't be a disaster and it really is a magical place. There are lots of characters walking around who sign autographs, plenty of kids shows, family rides etc but it will be hard work for you all and you will definately enjoy it a bit more when the kids are a little bit older.

If you can afford to go this year and again in a few years time, then go for it, but I'd take a pushchair with a buggy board for the toddler to help with the walking.

Have you thought about Legoland in Windsor? not on a par with Disneyland, but it is perfect for younger kids and families i think. It might give you a good idea what it is like taking kds to a theme park before stepping up to Disneyland.

Not a million miles different to what you would get in Ireland at that time of year. The days migh be marginally warmer and the nights marginally colder, but expect rain as you would here.

Shouldn't make any difference though, just take a waterproof coat!

Going next week with a 2 yr old , will give you an update when I get back. I reckon it will be more emphasis on characters/shows than rollercoasters , at least this year . Staying in a hotel with Pool for when she gets bored. Plan on doing park in 2hr-3hr stints .
    Hope this helps

That will be more tiring to be honest. your best bet is to take breaks in the park rather than head back to the hotel. they aren't that close and it could easily take you 30 minutes to get there.

In the Studios park, there are several shows near the entrance. These are a very good way of taking a break and the animagic one in particular is great for kids.

there are also tonnes of places to sit and relax and grab an ice cream or a drink (If you can afford it). It is also a good idea to check when the parades are and then pick your spot, get there early and sit down and chill out for a bit. Alternatively, you can leave the park and nip to a restaurant in the Disney Village which is another good way of relaxing for a bit.

We were there a few weeks ago and the park was open until 11pm with a parade at 10:15 and a huge firework display at closing time. If you can last that long, it is very very good.

Too young, don't waste your money by going now. They would appreciate a playground just as much.
Maybe you would like to see the place yourself?

Just back with 2 kids 4 and 1 1/2 year old. Both Loved it.The 4 year old is a girl and she loved everything about it..could'nt get enough of it!the little one loved mickey mouse and donald and was amazed by the little world or some ride like that. Both parents wrecked...more to do with walking than anything else.Brought two buggies and both had a rest when tired.Even brought them into the eiffel tower on the train...they loved it we got stressed!!!Stayed in Newport Bay which suited us as shuttle running every 10/15 mins{but we walked}lake at back of the hotel is nice walk to village{5 minutes around lake!}.The only way to find out if there too young is to go and see for yourself...My bet is they'll love it...break from the norm and all the disney characters. Not sure what weather will be like in october...last week 21-30 degrees...you will have a great time!

I think it is too young too. You are going to be limited to the rides that you can go on due to the height requirements. To some small children the characters can come across as scary due to their height. The place is very large with lots of walking and the queues can be long.

It is a great place for older kids so I would suggest that you wait a few years more so they can enjoy it to the full.

Have been there before (years ago) as well as Florida but not with kids.
There are some great deals on at the moment.
Would be travelling around Paddy's Day.
I understand that they would like a playground as much but it could be a nice trip/treat for them as well as us!!
Obivously we realise that rollercoasters etc are out of the question but are there enough options for small kids?

    Hi Raddo ,

OK , heres the quick vaersion trip report. Any specific questions , just ask .
We went with our 2 yr old (was 2 while we were there) and she had a ball .
We stayed in Sequoia Lodge for 3 nights and got park tickets for 4 days. We also went 1/2 board plus which we found great. Restaurants we ate in were Beaver Creek (in hotel) which was lovely (free for under 3's with lots of choice) , Walts American Restaurant (proper restaurant) and Blue Lagoon (nice food , interesting location). She had no problems with food in any of them , although she shared ours in the a lot of cases. Breakfast was buffet and perfectly adequate , plus filled bags with cheese and croissants etc... for later.
The rides she went on ... Carousel , Dumbo , pinnochio , Peter Pan , Teacups , Autopia , Orbitron , Small World , Pirates Of Carribean , Teacups , Flying Carpets , Slinky Dog ,Pixar Cars , Disney Steamtrain
Walkthroughs (not really rides) Robinsons Treehouse , Alladdins Cave , Steamboat.
Shows.... Animagique , Cinemagique , Playhouse Disney , Art of Animation , Captain EO , Studio Tram tour
Also watched all the parades and met lots of characters which she thorouhly enjoyed .
I know all kids are different , but she had a ball and loved every minute of it.

She got tired in the afternoons and slept in the buggy for 1 1/2 which was when we got to do some grown up rides . We left the hotel by 8.30 and didnt get back till after 7 .
There is alot of walking involved.
Best advice I can give is go when its quiet , we went Weds to Sat and there were more people there on Sat then the other 3 days put together. Weekdays it was 0-15 mins wait , but on Sat we saw 90min wait times for some rides , so we spent Sat going to shows and taking photos with characters etc...
A lot of people complain about how expensive it is , but we didnt find it much worse than here (not saying much !!).
We ate in Disney village one evening and had Panini+Chips+Choc.Brownie and a Beer for €12 each.

Bottom line is I would definitely do it again with a 2 yr old , she had a ball and there was lots for her to do and see. A bit of planning will go along way , plus the weather was 20-24 degrees and sunny while we were there which helped.

    Hope this helps,

Just as a follow up to this thread.
Came back from Disneyland Paris on Sunday last.
Kids and adults all really enjoyed the trip.
Granted it was hard work at times pushing buggys around the parks but well worth it.
We went in each day to the parks at 8 and left around half 3 or 4 with two tired kids, headed to the swiming pool in hotel and relaxed for the evening.
Went on a lot of the smaller rides but didn't go on the bigger attractions.
The girls really enjoyed the shows in Disney Studios as well.
Will definately consider returning next year.
